A Large Wall Clock Alternative – The Projection Clock

A projection clock is exactly what the name implies, a clock that projects the time onto the wall or ceiling. These clocks naturally have a regular display as well and may even be alarm clocks or atomic radio controlled pieces. Some of the top sellers are desk clocks or beside clocks like the HoMedics SoundSpa clock radio with time projector and costs about $26.

There’s also a Timex T436B clock radio with time projector that retails for about $24 and projects whatever alarm time has been set onto the ceiling or wall in a 2 and a half image. It also has a stereo speaker for waking you up with music, nature sounds or a buzzer and costs about $34. Another projection clock is the very popular Homedics SoundSpa SS-7000 clock radio with time projector for about $63 which can you wake you up to whatever sound you’ve chosen on your iPod or radio, or be set to play nature sounds or make a beep.

Another choice in this projection style is the Emerson SmartSet CKS3516 clock radio that's very good value for only $19 and has a SmartSet automatic time setting system. Also the Oregon Scientific Starck Collection PSM06A Projection radio seems to do the trick of waking you up and projecting time for abut $33. Another AM/FM clock radio that has a large LCD display and a pivoting lens that projects the time onto the ceiling, wall or any other object is the RCA RP 5440 clock radio for $32. There’s a clock called the Uncle Milton 2060 Night Sky Projector Clock which projects a floating star background as well as the time, and if stars are not what you’re after, there are other images to choose from. It seems to have a lot of interesting features for the low price of $27.

All of these projection clocks double as desk, table or even travel alarm clocks and most incorporate the unique features of a radio controlled clock which allows for accurate time without ever having to be set or adjusted. Many, especially the ones with the floating star images that also have soothing nature sounds are ideal kids clocks that can be used at night to soothe children to sleep.

It is also a lovely way for young ones to wake up for school, with an image and soft sounds that nudge them awake instead of startling them away from their dreams. These clocks, although they are not technically a wall clock, are often used in place of such because the images of time end up being projected onto a wall, and therefore are a table clock or large wall clock and a novelty clock all in one.

The Projection Clock is really superb, the features like alarm, radio, and speakers for music is nice, i prefer The Projection Clock in place of wall clock they can be used on both walls and ceilings.

From what i know the advantage of a projection clock is that the “clock” can be placed almost anywhere, even on surfaces difficult to install traditional clocks on. :)

I have one of those table clocks you’re talking about. I can actually project the time on the wall or ceiling in a few different colors. It’s really nice but it was quite expensive though.

That is a very innovative idea! It would be lovely to wake up to a gentle sound and image compared to the usual beeping. It seems reasonably priced too! I can’t wait to get one!

Outstanding large wall clocks are one of those things that are so easy to find and can really add an extra degree of “cool” to any room. All you have to do is get online and do a search on Google and you are sure to come up with a large range of funky clocks, that any “style guru” would be proud to hang above their kitchen sink.

A very good enhancement to the traditional large wall clocks. I think the power consumption, base on the technology used, is greater than the traditional wall clock. Other than that, it looks good and I think it will greatly appeal to the public

This is a very good enhancement when it comes to clocks. The Projection Clock is far better compared to the traditional old clocks for both functionality and diversity. When it comes to power consumption, I think the traditional wall clocks are much cheaper than the projection clock.
