1 Feng Shui Bed Placement
According to feng shui in the bedroom, bed placement is important. The bed should be as far away from the door as possible. The foot of the bed should not be facing the entry way (this is called the dead man's position), and it is preferable to have the head of the bed against a wall.
2 No Electric Wires
In a feng shui bedroom, there are no electric wires running through the room, or piling up in a corner. A bedroom is a place to rest not an office. Remove TV's, computers and video games to another room.
3 Colors Are Important
Color play a crucial role in a feng shui environment, choose cool colors for a bedroom walls, like blue, mauve, white or gray. Warm up the cool wall colors with bedding and curtains in soft warm colors. (See my other posts about feng shui colors.)
4 Pleasant Aromas Are Nice
Use a candle to perfume the atmosphere of the room. Santal is particularly effective, it purifies and protects from bad vibes. A few drops of essential oils on a pillow (I like lavender) will help you relax and sleep better.
5 Use Lights To Your Advantage
Look how the room lighting is affecting your feelings about the room. Feng Shui for bedroom lighting need to be soft and diffused. (see my article on lighting) Avoid suspended lights above the bed, choose a bedside light. Remove mirrors as they do not really belong in a bedroom.
6 Round Smooth Stones
Use a few smooth stones in a plate or a bowl on the nightstand. It is said to promote good sleep.
7 Keep Things In Their Place
Disorder is not feng shui! As your mother kept telling you: "pick up your room", it will help your chi circulate. What can I say Mother knows best.
Children can benefit tremendously from a feng shui bedroom. Their attitude and their sleep can be improved by properly directing the flow of Chi. Remember that you may not be able to remove some elements from a teen's room but it is quite possible to reduce negative energy from kids bedroom feng shui style.
