Vessel sinks are not only beautiful, they are convenient for small bathrooms because they can be placed on many types of support, not forcing you to use a bathroom vanity if you don’t have space for one, or if a vanity will look too bulky for that small space. There are many great looking small vessel sinks that can hang directly on a wall and have no footprint. However you do lose some of the storage ability that a vanity or even a small enclosed console would offer. This loss of storage space under the sink can be overcome with wall cabinets in another area of the bathroom where they might be better located. Wall mounted vessel sinks can be attached to the wall in a couple of ways. The first way to attach a sink to a wall is to use a console. In the past consoles always had front legs to support the weight of the sink and it was possible to lean on the sink with little fear of breaking it. Today some consoles have legs others use a bracket and some seem to simply defy gravity.
New technologies and light weight sinks have made it possible. Some wall hung consoles do offer a limited storage but still open up the space and give the illusion of a larger room.Whatever you choose whether a console with legs or one without you probably want to insure that the mounting system matches your design. If your home is ultra modern then a sink on a wall with a minimal support will fit very well. If on the other hand you prefer a traditional design, your vessel sink should rest on a console with wooden legs. Sometimes it is not so much the fact that you don’t have the physical space for a small vanity, it is the fact that a vanity will make the room appear smaller by its bulk, using a small console attached to the wall will give the room an air of spaciousness that could not happen with a heavy piece of furniture.

Kohler has made bathroom fixtures for over a hundred year and have excellent quality products, Kohler vessel sink faucets are some of the best quality faucets on the market. While they do have many sinks for sale, I am not not as enthusiastic about kohler vessel sinks designs.
