When To Use Red – Pink Or Orange Paint

To continue the series on paint colors let's look why and where you should use red, pink or orange. These are strong colors that people do not always dare to use to paint walls, however, they can give you some very interesting and diverse decorating possibilities.

They do work well with each other as long as you are careful when selecting the intensity, use a combination of sometimes lighter, sometimes darker shades. There is nothing like red to perk up any drab looking room. Be careful to use bright reds in smaller amounts as it can be overpowering. Play with the color and the rest of your furnishings with neutral colors to bring about a striking contrast.

Red is not recommended for bedrooms as it is not a resting color, nor is it appropriate in smaller room as it can make it look even smaller.

Red should be considered in homes with a clearly modern style, but you can also use it as an accent on any style. It can, as does a darker pink, add touches of rustic to country living style.

girl pink room from verbaudetPink has a tendency to be retro and romantic, it is very appropriate in the bedroom, the bathroom and even the kitchen. Pink unlike red is considered a cold color and should played up with stronger reds like cherry red, specially in room that receive little light.

A soft pink, pastel pinks, of antic pink are calming colors, very well suited for bedrooms. It is also effective to add a floral pattern wallpaper on one wall. If you want your room to be reminiscent of a time in the past consider using a flat pink instead of glossy of satin finish.

Peach is a variety of pink which goes well side by side with a mauve, gray, and even yellow for a trendy interior.

orange wall living roomOrange, can at time be easier to use than red. It is good to accentuate wood tones, perfect for rooms with hardwood flooring and a classic look. While orange is easier to use than red it is not advisable to use a stronger orange excessively. Oftentimes one orange wall is sufficient to light up a room, but just as with red it is best not to do so in a small room.

Apricot is a soft orange that you can use to your advantage, you can perk it up with bright orange accessories.

Unlike red orange is suitable for bedrooms as long as you use softer tones, like apricot.
